… … …

When it's all over...

When Red John is off the scene... And it's 'when' and not 'if'. Always has been. At first because that's her job, her calling, and there's no way she could conceive of not catching him. But now, because it's personal. Very quickly became so after she met Patrick Jane. And now 'catching' him is not a prerequisite. Just as long as he is off the scene. And he will be.

When it's all over...

When Red John is off the scene... And Jane will still be alive. There's no way she's allowing it to happen any other way. She's even more aware now of what Jane will do to get to Red John. But she's keeping him close this time. There's no way he's losing his life for this.

When it's all over...

When Red John is off the scene... When Jane has had time to accept that the search; the hunt; the game, is over. When he's mourned his family; when he's learned how to be without his need for revenge; when he's ready to move on...

When it's all over...

She will ask him. She'll raise the question she has allowed him to sidestep. She'll remind him of his words to her; she'll stand her ground; require an answer. And he will admit that he meant what he said...

When it's all over.

She knows now is not the time, but it will be worth the wait.

When it's all over. When they can start anew.

And it's 'when'. Not 'if'. Always has been.
